What would you say if I asked you why you thrive? For many moms, the first thing we think of is- “I thrive because of my children“. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with that statement, I want women, moms most specifically to remember other reasons why they thrive.

Earlier this month, I traveled all the way to California to talk to women just about this very topic. We partnered with Ergobaby to put on our very first Women We Thrive meet up. Some women came all the way from Texas, even Louisiana to attend our event at Gracefull Birth Birthing Center.

So I want to ask you again mama. Why do you thrive?

When I first began this journey of self care, I found myself seriously conflicted with loving myself and loving my daughter. I felt lost in becoming a mother and sometimes a little guilty for wanting to enjoy things to myself. Speaking with a room full of women, I realized I wasn’t alone. We shared heavy truths about parenthood, guilt consciousness, and if it really made us bad parents if we decided to spend more than three days away from our children (of course we decided it didn’t). We also talked about the beauty of a strong support system, mom friends, and also not forgetting our friends who weren’t mothers.  The main point was understanding the beauty of balance between self and parenthood.

Funny enough, we asked our attendees to leave their little ones at home. As mom bloggers, we all felt conflicted with this since we all understand how hard it can be to navigate your day or attend an event without your children. Looking back, I am so happy some of our moms brought their kids – #momlife. It was another testimony of balance provided from our guests. Sometimes as mothers, we have to thrive simply as that, as mom. It is one of the many hats that we wear as women.

In honor of our partnership with Ergobaby, we want to help you along your journey of thriving. We are giving away a new Ergobaby Cool Air Mesh 4 Position Baby Carrier to one of our lucky readers. As we round out the summer with one of the hottest months of the year coming up, we love our Cool Air Mesh because it is cooler for you and baby with breathable mesh panel. Baby wearing isn’t always easy so the lumbar support waist belt makes it easy for long wearing comfort. The 4 Position carrier is also forward facing adjustable, works for babies 12-33 lbs (can also be used with an infant insert 7-12 lbs). There is also a tucked away baby hood for sun protection and privacy!
